In my world your reputation is only as good as your security. Your security staff should be ambassadors for your company and promote the company in a positive manner.

They are not hired muscle. However recruiting and training quality security staff has not always been easyStreetSense has a solution. Our four hour program provides security staff with the skills and confidence they need to safely do their jobs.

Security Personnel require a solid understanding of Static and Dynamic Security principles  and an understanding of the Legal Ramifications of the Use of Force They must also understand the difference between criminal and civil legal liability for the individual and the company. Our training provides management and security personnel  with the Personal Safety and security training that they need to assess and mitigate potential threats to the company, it's guests and employees.

We teach that after security, one of their primary roles for security personnel is in guest relations. We know that you want your client's to feel safe and secure. 90% of what a good security officer  does is communicate/negotiate/manipulate. Understanding crowd dynamics, the value of developing rapport with clients and enhancing the customers experience are emphasized.

StreetSense teaches management and  staff how to utilize De-escalation  concepts to safely resolve situations without the need to become involved in a use of force scenario. We also teach security staff to safely and effectively control acting out  individuals.

At StreetSense we teach only proven Restraint & Control Tactics. We emphasize De-escalation and the safety of your staff and patrons. Our program trains security personnel to quickly and efficiently recognize, assess and resolve security issues and potentially violent incidents.

One of the benefits staff receive from Reality Based Training is the self-confidence that they can safely respond to situations that will arise in the workplace. A benefit for the organization is a reduction in liability and increased communication between all team members. A secondary benefit for the organization is having an establishment where patrons and staff feel safe and un-threatened. Often this translates into increased business.

StreetSense Restraint & Control  techniques are proven, effective and more importantly safe for both the staff and the patron. We emphasize teamwork and Kinetic Linking and tactical superiority to overcome a size/strength advantage.  We work closely with management to ensure that adequate policies and training are in place to protect the company and it's employees.

StreetSense emphasizes professionalism and the use of communications with the patron, other security staff and management to ensure that the organizations safety and security goals are met. Staff learn about the Adrenaline Response that occurs when people become aggressive or staff are required to intervene in violent situations. Learning to overcome the target fixation that often accompanies the Adrenaline Response is critical for a security professional to assess, communicate and intervene in a situation.

Our unique Adrenal-Stress Induced Saturation Training

model allows security personnel to embed the techniques and concepts into their muscle memory safely and quickly. It will also allow them to develop excellent De-escalation and conflict resolution skills and practice them under realistic conditions. Our goal is to teach security personnel to de-escalate situations whenever possible and to utilize proactive security measures to ensure that problematic situations and individuals are addressed before the need for physical force arises.

"The first time I had the fortune of training with Street Sense Safety & Security was early 2010 on a high risk security operators course offered By Diligence Ltd. of Calgary, Alberta. From the onset of the training provided by Tim and Kerry I could easily see that this was going to be unlike any training in hand to hand combat and self defense that I had received either with the Military or acquired in the private sector. Their instruction was clear, concise and to the point. They were able to take a handful of individuals over a short period of time and teach the basic fundamentals and importance of  unarmed defense against “attackers” either armed or unarmed. Also important to note is that they advocated that “the best defense to an attack is to be able to avoid confrontation altogether.”

As an owner of a private security company I find the need for practical, realistic training is of the utmost importance to operate professionally and effectively. So whether you are new to the private security industry or you are an experienced security officer looking to brush up on your physical defense skills you need look no further than StreetSense Safety & Security."
